REUZE: A User Centered and Design Thinking approach to Mobile Application Design

TASK:
Leverage User Centered Design (UCD) mindset to create empathy and understand user’s needs, Design Thinking methods and tools to build an effective, usable application, and Mobile Design strategy to create a solution that can be used in the real world.
ACTION:
User Surveys, interviews, rapid prototyping, and other methods were designed to understand the user. Additionally, wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and field testing were used to deliver a user experience the user has envisioned.
RESULT:
A mobile application that’s so in tune with the user that they can accomplish their goals and objectives with little to no issues. This creates an awesome user experience.
REUZE is an environmentally friendly mobile app. Its goal is to help users locate resources whose materials they can use to design amazing upcycled works and art. Additionally, the app helps to reduce environmental impacts.
The mobile app was designed with User Centered Design principles baked in to ensure that I empathized and understood users expressed and latent needs. User Journeys, surveys and interviews were used to accomplish this goal.
Design Thinking is infused into the design process to ensure the mobile app works effectively. Mobile design patterns, gesture optimization, wireframes, prototypes and field testing were implemented to ensure the goal was achieved.
